Consider yourself warned!!

It's been 1 year 5 months now. The transition back to the mother-land. It's been a roller-coaster ride - exciting, exhilarating, exasperating, stressful, sometimes lonely. And getting back to work immediately was the best thing I did. We fall. We rise. Dust our back and get back into the saddle.

I live in a beautiful penthouse apartment in North Bangalore (on the way to the International Airport - hey, stop by for a cup of a coffee on your next trip 'k?) and I work in South Bangalore. Yes, it's a b*** of a commute. Hence, this story.

On a hot (HOT HOT) muggy evening, as I driving back home - I saw a car driving straight at me. Head on. He was driving on the wrong side of the road - straight at me. Hmm...So, I thought to myself, maybe he'll get back on the "right" side and he kept dipping his lights as if he was trying to tell me something. Dim. Dip. Dip. Dim. High beam. Dip. And the car came to a screeching halt in front of me.

The driver (obviously a he) got out of the car and started screaming at me. Ah. Never the one who backs off - I looked at him questioningly and asked him what the problem was. He was after all driving on the wrong side of the road. While the rest of the traffic was (somewhat) following lane discipline. He went on and on about the culture of "dim and dip" which is considered a warning (his right-of-way) ! And how I should have stayed out of his way - blah blah blah - it went on and on. By now, a group of people had gathered and fortunately, for me, I can speak Kannada (state language of Karnataka) well and throw some mean phrases. More yelling. More screaming. I must have heard the word "warning" at least 20 times from the guy's mouth.

I had to end this madness! I had to take charge. I told the guy --

"Sir, I am warning you. I am going to push you very hard now. So, please consider this a "warning."

So, with all my might and power, I pushed the guy very hard. Pushed him.

I ran back to my car. Got in. Drove off.

Smiling. Scared.
